At Baku State University, an expert session was organized by the Department of Social Work within the Faculty of Social Sciences and Psychology, where mediators from Baku Mediation Organization No. 3 – Balaca Jafarov, Jalal Huseynov, and Bulud Yusifov – delivered a masterclass on the mediation process.
During the session, extensive discussions were held on the role of social workers in mediation, the development of the mediation institution, relevant legislation, and the significance of mediation in resolving disputes. The speakers highlighted the necessity behind the establishment of mediation systems, drawing on international practices and emphasizing the importance of the Law on Mediation in shaping this field in Azerbaijan.
Participants were also provided with detailed insights into the activities of the Mediation Council, the distinctions between mandatory and voluntary mediation, the professional requirements for mediators, and the ethical frameworks governing mediation processes.
The session concluded with interactive discussions, allowing students to engage directly with practitioners and deepen their understanding of mediation mechanisms.
