Students of Baku State University (BSU) enrolled in the dual degree program at Israel’s Holon Institute of Technology (HIT)—Bakhtiyar Novruzov, Namig Abdullayev, and Ali Valiyev—participated in the “AI Sprint” hackathon together with Israeli students. The main themes of the hackathon were “Time Management,” “Campus Social Life,” and “Effective and Efficient Learning.”
Based on these themes, participating teams were tasked with developing an innovative web platform aimed at improving students’ academic activities and social engagement within the university environment.
The project co-developed by BSU students was built using the “React Native” framework and presented to the jury. The developed system helps students organize their learning process more effectively and efficiently while also providing easier access to social opportunities on campus. Highly valued by the judges, the project was awarded 2nd place in the hackathon, and each team member received a prize of 750 NIS (New Israeli Shekels).
Participation in the hackathon enabled students to gain not only technical skills, but also valuable experience in international teamwork, design thinking, and rapid prototyping.
It should be noted that the implementation of the dual degree program in Computer Science between BSU and the Holon Institute of Technology at the bachelor’s level began in the spring semester of the 2020/2021 academic year.
