“Colors of Spring” festive event held
16-03-2026

A festive event entitled “Colors of Spring” was organized jointly by the Student Youth Organization, the Student Trade Union Committee, and the BSU Volunteers Organization of the Faculty of Chemistry at Baku State University.

The event aimed to promote national values and Novruz traditions among students while celebrating the arrival of spring in an atmosphere of unity and joy.

The program began with an official ceremony. The National Anthem of Azerbaijan was performed, and the memory of the country's martyrs was honored with a minute of silence. Dean of the Faculty of Chemistry Fuad Karimli and Deputy Dean for Social Affairs and Student Relations Taleh Gahramanov addressed the participants, highlighting the cultural significance of Novruz and its important place in the national heritage of Azerbaijan.

The artistic part of the event continued with a theatrical performance entitled “The Awakening of Spring.” The characters of the Host, Kosa, Kechal, Spring Maiden, and Snow Maiden symbolically portrayed the transition from winter to spring and the renewal of nature.

Students then presented a variety of musical and dance performances. The audience warmly welcomed performances such as the “Samani” dance, “Tar Kamanim,” a song from the famous Azerbaijani musical film Arshin Mal Alan, the “Faridam” dance, and the traditional Yalli dance. Additional performances included the songs “Gulur Eller,” “Heyat Bayram Olsa,” “Bayram Axsamlarinda,” and “Novruz Gelir, Yaz Gelir.”

The program was further enriched by the presentation of “Girls’ Dance” from Arshin Mal Alan and several other dance performances. The celebration concluded with all participants joining together in a traditional Yalli dance, bringing the event to a festive and memorable close.

The “Colors of Spring” event not only showcased the creativity and talents of students but also helped preserve and celebrate Novruz traditions and Azerbaijan’s rich cultural heritage.
