The series of Civil Court Simulations organized by the “BSU Volunteers” organization (Law Faculty division) in collaboration with the Department of Civil Procedure and Commercial Law at Baku State University (BSU) has successfully concluded.
Head of the Department of Civil Procedure and Commercial Law, Asmar Aliyeva, congratulated the participants on the successful completion of the Civil Court Simulation, which was held in this format for the first time. She emphasized the significance of such initiatives in the teaching of law and their role in the professional development of students, expressing gratitude to the Judicial-Legal Council and the Supreme Court for their support in implementing the project.
Chair of the “BSU Volunteers” Law Faculty division, Alam Nabizade, announced the winners of the competition held as part of the simulation. During the event, students reenacted civil court proceedings based on a simulated case.
At the end of the simulation, Judge Ispandiyar Shafiyev of the Civil Board of the Supreme Court—who participated in the simulation as the presiding and reporting judge in the cassation instance—delivered a seminar on “Unified Judicial Practice” and addressed students’ questions.
It should be noted that the Civil Court Simulation of BSU’s Law Faculty was developed based on the Supreme Court decision establishing judicial practice. The simulation took place in three stages (first instance, appellate, and cassation). The first instance proceedings were held on October 18 at the Binagadi District Court of Baku, and the appellate stage took place on October 25 at the Baku Court of Appeal.
