Sustainable Development Goals at Baku State University.

On December 11, 2025, an event titled “Immortal Leader” dedicated to the commemoration of national leader Heydar Aliyev was organized jointly by the Istiglal Club and the Student Youth Organization (SYO) of the History Faculty at Baku State University (BSU). The event began with the performance of the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan, followed by a minute of silence in memory of the late leader and the martyrs.

Afterward, a video prepared by History Faculty student Nargiz Akbarova in honor of Heydar Aliyev’s memorial day was presented. The Dean of the History Faculty, Professor Ibrahim Zeynalov, addressed the participants, expressing pride in being a former student of the faculty attended by the late leader and continuing his work at the faculty. The Head of the Department of Ancient and Medieval History, Academic Yaqub Mahmudov, praised Heydar Aliyev as an extraordinary personality whose greatness cannot be fully expressed in words. The Head of the Department of History of Asian and African Countries, Iqbal Agayev, emphasized that the national leader was not only a remarkable politician but also deeply connected to and appreciative of the arts.

The event concluded with History Faculty students – Dilruba Hidayatli, Fuad Nagizade, Zehra Huseynli, and Nigar Asgerzade – performing various poems and songs.
