An event titled “Prevention of Drug Addiction and Its Harmful Effects” was held at the Faculty of Geography through the joint organization of the Faculty and the Polyclinic of Baku State University (BSU).
Opening the event, Dean of the Faculty of Geography, Professor Maqsad Qocamanov, spoke about the serious social problems caused by drug addiction and highlighted the measures implemented by the state of Azerbaijan to combat narcotics.
Following this, Sevinc Hojjatova, Chief Physician of the BSU Polyclinic, informed students about the State Program for 2025–2030 on Combating the Illegal Trafficking of Narcotic Drugs, Psychotropic Substances, and Their Precursors, and Drug Addiction, adopted by the decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev. She noted that, in accordance with the requirements of the program, it was decided to conduct preventive and awareness-raising activities among students.
The main speaker, physician-therapist Farida Aliyeva, used slides to demonstrate how наркотics damage the human body—particularly the brain, heart, and lungs—and provided comprehensive answers to the numerous questions raised by students.
