An event titled “In the Shadow of Victory”, dedicated to 8 November – Victory Day, was held at the Faculty of Geography of Baku State University (BSU). The event was organized by the Faculty of Geography in cooperation with the Student Trade Union Committee (STUC).
The main purpose of the event was to commemorate the heroic sons of the homeland who demonstrated bravery during the Patriotic War, to strengthen the spirit of patriotism among students, and to express respect and solidarity with the families of martyrs.
During the event, Sabina Israfilova, a third-year student of the Faculty of Geography, shared the memories of her two relatives who had participated in the Karabakh wars, creating deeply emotional moments for the audience.
Subsequently, a theatrical performance titled “The Desire for Victory”, prepared by Etibar Tarlanov, a fourth-year student, and Sakina Hajiyeva, a third-year student, was presented.
This was followed by a recitation of a ghazal dedicated to Victory Day by student Huseyn Tahmazzade, which was warmly applauded by the participants.
At the conclusion of the event, the “Victory Dance” was performed by students Mahira Tarlanova, Laman Novruzova, Nurgul Aliyeva, Lamiye Namazova, Gulay Ahmadli, Naile Ahmadova, Ayla Gamiyeva, and Gunay Huseynova.
Participants emphasized that such events play a significant role in fostering national identity, love for the homeland, and a strong sense of pride among young people.
