Expanding employment opportunities for students and graduates at BSU
20-10-2025

A meeting was held between the staff of the Career and Alumni Relations Center of Baku State University (BSU) and representatives of the Eastern Zangezur Regional Employment Branch. The purpose of the meeting was to enhance employment opportunities for students and graduates, facilitate their access to the labor market, and strengthen cooperation between the University and state institutions.

The meeting was attended by Gunel Qurbanova, Head of the Career Planning Department of BSU’s Career and Alumni Relations Center; Ilkin Sharifov, Senior Specialist of the Center; Zohrab Agamaliyev, Deputy Director of the Center for Excellence in Research, Development and Innovation; Jamil Dadashov, Senior Specialist of the Analysis and Partner Relations Department of the Eastern Zangezur Regional Employment Branch; as well as Maharram Tagiyev, Senior Specialist, and Shakir Valiyev, Leading Specialist.

Gunel Qurbanova provided information on the Center’s activities, projects and development programs, career services offered to students and graduates, employer-submitted vacancies, internship and scholarship programs.

In their speeches, Senior Specialist Ilkin Sharifov and Deputy Director Zohrab Agamaliyev highlighted that the University’s labor-market-oriented integration strategy creates new opportunities for students to establish direct connections with companies operating in the regions. It was noted that analyzing the material-technical capacity and analytical needs of companies in Eastern Zangezur could significantly contribute to the realization of potential cooperation.

During the meeting, the parties also discussed the organization of a joint specialized Career Fair aimed at supporting the career development of students and graduates. Currently, 114 companies representing the construction and manufacturing sectors operate in Eastern Zangezur. Inviting a number of these companies to the fair would be valuable in familiarizing students and graduates with the real working environment.
