Researchers from the Faculty of Biology at Baku State University (BSU) continue to enrich their scientific knowledge and practical skills by conducting parts of their dissertation research at foreign universities, thereby strengthening international academic cooperation.
Within the framework of the Türkiye Scholarships Program, one of the Faculty’s researchers carried out a study at the Izmir Institute of Technology (IYTE) in Türkiye on the topic “Investigation of New Approaches to the Effective Treatment of Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.” Conducted at the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics, the research involved the use of modern laboratory equipment and significantly enhanced both theoretical and practical competencies.
At the same time, Natavan Bakhshaliyeva, Lecturer at the Department of Genetics of the Faculty, conducted research at the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics of Karadeniz Technical University (KTU). The project, implemented jointly with Associate Professor Murat Erdem Guzel, focuses on the study of genetic polymorphism and phylogenetic relationships of species belonging to the genus Diospyros L. (Ebenaceae) distributed in Azerbaijan, based on ISSR, ScOT, and ITS markers. The research is expected to make a significant contribution to identifying the genetic diversity and evolutionary relationships of Diospyros species within the flora of Azerbaijan.
Such international collaborations provide young scientists and researchers of the Faculty with broad opportunities to master modern scientific methodologies, benefit from advanced laboratory facilities, and establish valuable academic partnerships.
