A concert program titled “Five Years of the Victory Echo” dedicated to the 8 November – Victory Day was organized at Baku State University (BSU) with the support of the University’s Trade Union Committee of Students (THİK) and the Culture and Creativity Center.
Opening the event, BSU Vice-Rector for Social Affairs, Student Affairs, and Public Relations, Alish Aghamirzayev, emphasized that the 44-day Patriotic War has been inscribed in the history of the Azerbaijani people in golden letters. He noted that the Azerbaijani people liberated the territories that had been under occupation for 30 years thanks to the unity of the Army and the Nation under the leadership of the President and Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev. The historic Victory not only restored our territorial integrity but also revived national pride and established a new geopolitical reality in the region.
Honored Master of Sports of Azerbaijan, Honored Coach, First Karabakh War veteran Ilham Zakiev, and reserve officer, participant of the Patriotic War, and BSU master's student of the Faculty of International Relations and Economics, Vasif Gahramanov, stated in their speeches that this Victory ended the 30-year longing of the Azerbaijani people for their lands. Today, as citizens of a victorious nation, every Azerbaijani proudly carries this honor. They emphasized that youth, especially students, must advance successfully in their fields as worthy successors of this Victory and contribute to strengthening the reputation of the victorious people.
Later, the event’s special guests – Honored Artist Elnur Zeynalov, singer Javidan Fatihi, staff of the BSU Culture and Creativity Center, and student of the Faculty of International Relations and Economics, Nuray Guliyeva – performed patriotic songs and dances.
The event was met with great interest by the students.
