Sustainable Development Goals at Baku State University.

An informative meeting on “Renewable Energy: Projects and Future Perspectives” was held at the Faculty of Ecology and Soil Science of Baku State University (BSU), organized by the State Agency for Renewable Energy Sources under the Ministry of Energy.

The event was opened by the Dean of the Faculty, Associate Professor Akif Agbabali, who emphasized the important role of such events in enhancing students’ knowledge and skills. He highlighted the significance of these meetings for students’ future career choices and expressed gratitude to the Agency’s representatives. The Dean also noted the importance of students gaining practical experience at the Agency and participating in internship programs.

Following the opening, Emil Karimzade, Deputy Head of the Project Management Department, and Gunel Guliyeva, Consultant of the Renewable Energy Areas Development Department, delivered presentations. The speakers provided detailed information on the role of green energy in environmental protection, particularly promising wind and solar energy projects in Azerbaijan, their production mechanisms, and economic efficiency.

The presentations also included facts about the current use of renewable energy sources in the country, the capacity of installed wind and solar power plants, and upcoming projects. The effectiveness of small hydroelectric power plants and various alternative energy sources implemented in the liberated territories was discussed. The high renewable energy potential of Azerbaijan, its significant contribution to regional energy security, and the growing interest of foreign investors in this sector were emphasized.
