Infosession held at BSU within the IV “Maarifchi” student-alumni program

An infosession was held at Baku State University (BSU) within the framework of the IV “Maarifchi” student-alumni program, initiated by the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan and supported by the Education Development Fund. The main objective of the session was to familiarize young people with the opportunities offered by the program, support them in gaining real work experience, and expand their career development prospects.

During 2024–2025, the program has already been successfully implemented three times. A total of 102 graduates have completed the program, and 50 of them have been employed in the central office and subordinate institutions of the Ministry of Science and Education. This indicator once again confirms that the program creates real and sustainable career opportunities for its participants.

Ilkin Sharifov, leading specialist of the Career Planning Department of the Career and Alumni Relations Center of BSU, delivered a speech about the Center’s areas of activity, career services for students and graduates, and cooperation with employers.

Sabina Huseynzade, specialist of the Procurement Sector, and Fuad Jalilli, specialist of the Legal Department of the Ministry, noted that the “Maarifchi” program serves to enhance the knowledge and skills of students and graduates of higher education institutions, accelerate their integration into the labor market, and create favorable conditions for gaining practical experience. The program includes an assessment process, an individual development plan, and various training modules. Final-year undergraduate students, master’s students, and individuals who have graduated within the last three years are eligible to participate. Participants go through several selection stages, including initial screening, testing, and interviews, before being engaged in internships in relevant fields.

Internship opportunities are provided in the Ministry’s structural divisions, subordinate institutions, regional education departments, and relevant bodies of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.

During the event, representatives of the Ministry also provided detailed information about the program’s key направления, including education management, administrative governance, economics and finance, international relations, data analytics, project management, digital governance and IT projects, construction and architecture, as well as law.

Additionally, an infosession was also held in BSU’s C building. Kamala Mammadova, specialist of the Procurement and Grants Sector, and Nazrin Manafova, specialist of the Department for Quality Control of Additional Education Services, provided detailed information about the program’s advantages and participation opportunities.

At the end, participants’ questions were answered.
