Innovative classes organized for BSU students at the Baku Zoological Park

Innovative teaching methods were applied by Nazakat Isayeva, a lecturer of the Department of Bioecology at the Faculty of Ecology and Soil Science of Baku State University (BSU) and Director of the Baku Zoological Park. She conducted lecture and laboratory sessions of the “Animal Ecology” course, taught to second-year students majoring in “Ecology,” within the территории of the Baku Zoological Park.

Alongside lectures held in the park’s lecture hall, students observed various animal species belonging to reptiles and insects during laboratory sessions. They became closely acquainted with fauna samples from both Azerbaijan and other countries and, under the supervision of a veterinarian at the park’s clinic, learned the rules of providing primary medical care to animals.

As part of the educational process, students also participated in a guided экскурсия around the zoo, where they explored diverse and unique fauna species. At the same time, they received detailed information about endangered species included in Azerbaijan’s “Red Book,” as well as conservation and reintroduction programs aimed at protecting them.
