International symposium dedicated to the National Leader

On 8–9 May 2026, the 6th International Student Symposium dedicated to the 103rd anniversary of the birth of the National Leader of the Azerbaijani people, Heydar Aliyev, will be held in Bartın, Türkiye. The symposium is jointly organized by the Faculty of Information and Document Management of Baku State University (BSU) and the Department of Information and Document Management of Bartın University, with Bartın University serving as the host institution.

The symposium, titled “Changing Information Technologies and Electronic Resources,” will bring together academic staff and students from numerous Turkish universities, including Istanbul University, Ankara University, Hacettepe University, Atatürk University, Marmara University, Çankırı Karatekin University, Kastamonu University, Istanbul 29 Mayıs University, Istanbul Kültür University, İzmir Katip Çelebi University, and Kırıkkale University. During plenary and parallel sessions, young researchers will discuss recent developments in the field of information and document management, examine contemporary challenges related to electronic catalog technologies, explore current issues from new conceptual perspectives, and propose innovative directions for future research.

BSU students will present papers analyzing literature related to the legacy of Heydar Aliyev and the Turkic world within Azerbaijan’s digital library and information resources. Their presentations will focus on development trends and scientometric evaluations of these resources. In addition, faculty members of BSU’s Faculty of Information and Document Management are expected to deliver lectures to students of Bartın University within the framework of the symposium.

The international student symposium is expected to make a significant contribution to strengthening students’ interest in scientific research, promoting academic collaboration among young scholars, and identifying emerging research directions.
