Sustainable Development Goals at Baku State University.

On 16 October 2025, the Faculty of Information and Document Management of Baku State University, in collaboration with the Information and Document Management departments of Turkey’s Bartin University, Cankiri Karatekin University, Kastamonu University, and Istanbul 29 Mayis University, inaugurated the IV International “From Tradition to Future” Information and Document Management Symposium.

The symposium was hosted by Kastamonu University. During the opening ceremony, Hamid Dervish, head of Kastamonu University’s Information and Document Management department, welcomed participants and highlighted the event’s history: first held in 2022 at Bartin University, 2023 at Cankiri Karatekin University, and the III Symposium in 2024 hosted by Baku State University at a high level of organization. He emphasized that the symposium aims to define priority areas in the field, coordinate academic activities, and strengthen research collaborations.

BDU’s Faculty of Information and Document Management Dean, Alemder Jabbarli, spoke about the importance of joint projects with Turkish universities, noting that Baku State University has signed memorandums with over 40 recognized universities in recent years across various areas.

Key speakers included Yashar Tonta, Ali Fuat Kartal, and Nadir Ismayilov. They discussed critical topics such as document management, artificial intelligence, information logistics, copyright and related rights, library-information activities, and museum and archival work, as well as future goals for the discipline.

The two-day symposium featured 15 sessions, with a total of 70 presentations, including more than 20 from Baku State University faculty members and doctoral students.
