Sustainable Development Goals at Baku State University.

An online meeting was held between representatives of Baku State University (BSU) and the National Observatory on Labor Market and Social Protection Issues, which operates under the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Organized by BSU’s Career and Alumni Relations Center, the meeting aimed to discuss the Joint Action Plan for 2025 arising from the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the University and the National Observatory.

The meeting was attended by Gashem Mammadov, Director of the Career and Alumni Relations Center of BSU; Idrak Asgarov, Director of the Quality Assurance Center; Ramin Samadov, Head of the Department for Humanitarian Issues and Youth Policy; Sabuhi Talibov, Head of the Master’s Division of the Center for Organization and Management of Education; Rahim Mammadov, Deputy Dean for Research of the Faculty of Law; Gunel Gurbanova, Head of the Career Planning Department; as well as Ayshem Balayeva, Head of the Research Department for Labor Market and Social Protection at the National Observatory, and Elnara Garibova, Chief Specialist of the same department.

The main objective of the cooperation between BSU and the National Observatory is to strengthen the exchange of knowledge and experience between universities and research institutions, enhance students’ scientific and professional skills, and align research activities with modern challenges. Within the framework of this cooperation, a Working Group has been established at BSU to ensure the implementation of the Joint Action Plan for 2025. The Group is expected to carry out the planned activities in stages, analyze the outcomes, and define future directions.

In his remarks, Gashem Mammadov, Head of the Working Group, emphasized that expanding cooperation between BSU and the National Observatory is of significant scientific and practical importance. He noted that this partnership will contribute to strengthening academic ties, promoting innovation, and supporting student development.

Ayshem Balayeva, Head of the Research Department for Labor Market and Social Protection at the National Observatory, provided detailed information on the key areas outlined in the Joint Action Plan and answered questions from the participants. She stated that the planned activities are expected to enhance the scientific skills of students and young researchers, increase the practical orientation of research activities, and further strengthen university–research institution collaboration.
