Sustainable Development Goals at Baku State University.

An intellectual competition titled “Khamsa” was held at Baku State University (BSU), jointly organized by the Student Scientific Societies of the Faculties of Ecology and Soil Science and Biology. The event was dedicated to 31 December – the Day of Solidarity of World Azerbaijanis.

Alongside commemorating a significant day symbolizing the national unity and solidarity of the Azerbaijani people, the competition aimed to reveal students’ intellectual potential and enhance their knowledge and worldview.

The event began with the performance of the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan, followed by a one-minute silence in memory of National Leader Heydar Aliyev and the martyrs.

During the opening ceremony, Konul Aslanova, Deputy Dean for Social Affairs and Student Relations of the Faculty of Ecology and Soil Science, emphasized the important role of such scientific and intellectual events in students’ academic and personal development. Yusif Abiyev, Deputy Dean for Social Affairs and Student Relations of the Faculty of Biology, highlighted the significance of interfaculty cooperation and wished success to the participants.

Raul Imanov, Chair of the Student Scientific Society of the Faculty of Ecology and Soil Science, greeted the participants, provided information about the objectives of the competition, and explained the rules of the “Khamsa” intellectual contest in detail.

At the end of the event, Rasim Abbaszade, Chair of the Student Scientific Society of the Faculty of Biology, noted that such joint initiatives contribute to strengthening scientific interest and team spirit among students.

The competition, held in an atmosphere of high competition and great enthusiasm, concluded with the “Evrika” team being declared the winner among nine participating teams for their outstanding knowledge and quick thinking skills. The winners were awarded accordingly.

The event was met with great interest by participants and concluded in a festive spirit on the occasion of the Day of Solidarity of World Azerbaijanis.
