A masterclass titled “Pitching and Presentation Skills” was held at the Faculty of Geography of Baku State University (BSU).
Opening the event, the Deputy Dean for Social Affairs and Student Relations, Goshgar Mammadov, emphasized the significance of presentation and pitching skills in today’s business environment, noting their critical role particularly in the fields of investment and innovation. He informed participants that Isa Gasimov, Associate Professor and Head of the “Enterprise Azerbaijan” portal under the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication, is the author of numerous scientific studies in the field of startup and project management and also conducts research on the development of presentation skills.
In his presentation, Isa Gasimov provided comprehensive information on conceptual approaches to developing presentation skills in the modern business world, including the effectiveness of pitching techniques. It was noted that presentation skills encompass not only verbal communication but also visual, logical, and psychological components. The speaker highlighted the importance of effective presentation skills in achieving business success.
He explained approaches to engaging with the audience, regulating the emotional tone of a presentation, managing stress and anxiety, and building interactive communication with listeners. Furthermore, he discussed the methods, tools, and technologies used in preparing and delivering effective presentations, encouraging participants to further enhance their professional competencies in this area.
During the event, Professor Magsad Gocamanov, Associate Professors Shakar Mammadova, Asaf Jarullayev, and others actively participated in the discussion. They underlined the relevance of the topic and described the methodological approach as innovative, recommending the continuation of research and training initiatives in this direction.
