On September 25, 2025, a meeting was held with first-year students of the Ecology and Soil Science Faculty at Baku State University.
The event began with the performance of the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan, followed by a minute of silence in memory of National Leader Heydar Aliyev and the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the liberation of the country’s territories.
Opening the meeting, Dean Akif Agbabalı spoke about the necessity of establishing the Ecology and Soil Science Faculty, emphasizing the importance of each specialization offered by the faculty. He provided a detailed analysis of employment indicators for graduates across different fields and highlighted the strong labor market prospects for newly admitted students.
A video presentation about the history of the Ecology and Soil Science Faculty was then shown.
The Head of the Department of Ecological Chemistry, Professor Sevinc Hajiyeva; the Head of the Department of Bioecology, Professor Narmina Sadiqova; the Head of the Department of Geographical Ecology, Mahluqa Yusifova; Senior Lecturer of the Department of Soil Science and Real Estate Cadastre, PhD Qismet Khanbabeyev; and Professor of the Department of Geographical Ecology, Shovqi Goychayli congratulated the first-year students and wished them success in their academic studies and future careers.
In the continuation of the event, the chairpersons of student organizations and BSU Volunteers representing the Ecology and Soil Science Faculty – Khayal Asadov, Ibrahim Novruzov, Raul Imanov, and Ravan Hajiyev – delivered presentations about the Student Youth Organization, the Student Trade Union Committee, the Student Scientific Society, and BSU Volunteers. They informed students about the missions of these organizations and discussed projects aimed at promoting creativity and the effective use of students’ free time.
