Sustainable Development Goals at Baku State University.

The opening ceremony of the “Know your major, build your future!” project was held at the Faculty of Ecology and Soil Science of Baku State University, organized by the Faculty’s Student Youth Organization.

Dean Akif Agbabali emphasized the significant role of the project in helping students make informed decisions about their field of study. He noted that such initiatives make an important contribution to shaping students’ future career plans.

Nigar Hashimova, Head of Department at the Azerbaijan Food Safety Institute, and Elxan Huseynov, representative of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Azerbaijan and a graduate of the faculty, provided detailed information about the essence, application areas, career prospects, and future opportunities of the “Soil Science and Agrochemistry” specialization.

During the Q&A session, students raised questions regarding the real work environment, professional development pathways, and labor market requirements related to the specialization.

The project aims to help students gain a deeper understanding of their majors and make well-informed decisions about their future professional activities. It was also announced that a series of follow-up meetings will be organized for the specializations “Ecology,” “Ecological Engineering,” and “Land Management and Real Estate Cadastre.”
