The Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Ministry of Science and Education, the Western Azerbaijan Community, the “Regional Development” Public Union, the “ASAN Volunteers” Organization, and Baku State University (BSU) jointly organized the opening of the IV Youth Camp “Following the Trace of History: Our Memory is Our Future” in the Quba district.
Camp participants first visited the monument of National Leader Heydar Aliyev and the Quba Martyrs’ Alley.
The event began with the playing of the national anthem and a one-minute silence in memory of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the liberation of Azerbaijani territories.
During the ceremony at the Heydar Aliyev Center in Quba, speakers—including Saidə Abbasova, Deputy Head of the Quba District Executive Authority for Public, Political, and Humanitarian Affairs; Ramil Cabbarov, Head of the Youth Affairs Department of the Ministry of Youth and Sports; Şahin İsmayılov, Chair of the Western Azerbaijan Community Youth Council and the National Assembly’s Youth and Sports Committee; Nazilə Hüseynova, Head of Human Resources at the State Agency for Public Services and Social Innovations; Ramin Səmədov, Head of Humanitarian Affairs and Youth Policy at BSU; and Murad Qasımlı, Head of Public Relations and Communications at the “Regional Development” Public Union—emphasized the importance of raising awareness among youth about the idea of returning to Western Azerbaijan, presenting historical truths accurately, strengthening national identity, and informing the international community about regional developments. They also highlighted the significance of youth actively supporting state policies, enhancing initiative, and participating in civic engagement to achieve the camp’s objectives.
The youth camp, held at the Quba Olympic Sports Complex and running until December 7, will feature panel discussions, informative sessions, intellectual games, and group work related to the topic, along with a film screening about the realities of Western Azerbaijan.
The project aims to broaden volunteers’ understanding of contemporary historical issues and Western Azerbaijan facts, organize structured volunteer activities, and promote the systematic dissemination of Azerbaijani historical truths to domestic and international audiences, encouraging active youth participation.
