Our students at the Evolution Museum
17-11-2025

Students of the “Museum, Archive Work and Monument Preservation” program at the Faculty of Information and Document Management of Baku State University (BSU) visited the University’s Evolution Museum.

During the visit, museum specialist Umidvar Malikov provided detailed information about the museum, which was established in 1937 by Honored Scientist, Professor Mirali AKhundov. He noted that this museum, the first and only one in the South Caucasus, presents scientific evidence of how life developed over millennia, tracing evolution from simple to complex forms, from unicellular organisms to humans. The museum’s diverse paleontological, comparative anatomical, embryological, and biogeographical exhibits create a realistic and objective understanding of the historical evolutionary process. The visual aids in the museum play a significant role in teaching and learning various academic subjects.

Students explored the museum’s rich collections and engaged with the specialist, who answered their questions about the lifestyle of early humans, as well as various plant species, animal types, and other related topics.
