The Faculty of Information and Document Management at Baku State University (BSU) organized the presentation of the electronic information database titled “The History of the Path of Victory and Pride”, prepared by the Firidun bey Kocherli Republican Children’s Library to mark the 5th anniversary of Azerbaijan’s historic Victory.
The event began with the playing of the National Anthem, followed by a moment of silence in memory of National Leader Heydar Aliyev and the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the liberation of Azerbaijani lands. The event was held at the University’s “Victory History” lecture hall, moderated by the faculty dean, Associate Professor Alamdar Jabbarli, who highlighted that the fifth anniversary of the Victory is being marked nationwide with a series of events. He emphasized that the processes during and after the war, the state’s policies, the history and culture of Karabakh, and developments in education and science are now subjects of active research. He noted that the creation of electronic information resources is an important part of these initiatives: “The electronic database ‘The History of the Path of Victory and Pride’, prepared by the staff of the Firidun bey Kocherli Republican Children’s Library, is particularly significant in this regard.”
The library’s staff members Lətafət Əsədullayeva, Validə Quliyeva, and Kamil Qürbətov presented the database to the attendees. The database includes sections such as “Homepage,” “Official Documents,” “Liberated Territories,” “Martyrs of the 44-Day Patriotic War,” “Books,” “Articles,” “Eternal Memory,” “Orders and Medals Awarded to War Participants,” as well as photo and video galleries. Its purpose is to convey the historical facts of the Victory to the younger generation and promote them using modern information technologies.
Speakers at the event, including Knyaz Aslan, veteran of the First Karabakh War and head of the Editorial-Publishing Department at BSU, Nadir İsmayılov, head of the Document Management Department, Elçin Əhmədov, head of the Library Science Department, and faculty students, highlighted the importance of systematizing Victory-related information, disseminating it to wider audiences, and fostering patriotism among young people.
Finally, Shahla Qəmbərova, director of the Firidun bey Kocherli Republican Children’s Library and Honored Cultural Worker, expressed her gratitude to BSU leadership and all participants for organizing the event.
