A lecture titled “Personality Disorders: History, Classification, Epidemiology and Clinical Features” was delivered at Baku State University by Professor Araz Aliguliyev.
The event was organized by the Department of Psychology at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Psychology. During the lecture, Professor Aliguliyev provided a comprehensive overview of the historical development of personality disorders, approaches to their understanding across different periods, and modern classification systems used in psychiatry and clinical psychology.
He also elaborated on key diagnostic criteria, clinical characteristics, prevalence rates, and epidemiological aspects of personality disorders. The impact of these conditions on individuals’ social relationships, behavior, and psychological well-being was highlighted, alongside insights into contemporary research, diagnostic approaches, and treatment methods.
The lecture concluded with an interactive discussion, where students had the opportunity to ask questions and engage with the topic in greater depth.
