Azer Ahmadov, a professor from the Department of Mathematics at North Dakota State University (USA), has started delivering lectures at Baku State University (BSU) for students of the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics and the Faculty of Physics. His course focuses on “Three-Dimensional Geometry and Topology.”
The lectures, scheduled three times a week for one month, aim to provide students with a systematic understanding of fundamental concepts in modern geometry and topology, including the structure and symmetries of multidimensional spaces.
Professor Ahmadov graduated from BSU’s Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics in 1996. He is a protégé of the world-renowned mathematician Grigory Aleksandrovich Margulis, a laureate of the Fields and Abel Prizes.
The first lecture was met with great interest from students, sparking extensive scientific discussions. Professor Ahmadov answered numerous student questions and shared his insights into the current directions of modern mathematics.
