Sustainable Development Goals at Baku State University.

The Faculty of Information and Document Management of Baku State University, together with the Tartar District Executive Authority and the Tartar District Organization of the New Azerbaijan Party (YAP), organized a Republic conference dedicated to the “Year of Constitution and Sovereignty in the Republic of Azerbaijan” on the topic “The President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Victorious Supreme Commander Ilham Aliyev is the Architect of Karabakh.”

Participants of the conference first visited the monument of National Leader Heydar Aliyev in the Central Square of Tartar city, laying wreaths in front of the monument and paying tribute to the great leader.

The event continued in the conference hall of the Tartar District Executive Authority. The State Anthem was played. The invaluable and unforgettable memories of National Leader Heydar Aliyev and the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the sovereignty of our lands were honored with a minute of silence. A video clip dedicated to the Karabakh Victory was screened.

The head of the Tartar District Executive Authority, Müstəqim Məmmədov, greeted the conference participants, emphasizing that the wise policy and ideas of National Leader Heydar Aliyev are being successfully implemented under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev. He noted the special significance of declaring 2025 as the “Year of Constitution and Sovereignty” in Azerbaijan. He highlighted that under the leadership of President and Victorious Supreme Commander Ilham Aliyev, the Azerbaijani Army wrote a new and glorious chapter in our military history through the 44-day Patriotic War and anti-terror operations that lasted less than a day.

Speaking about the sacrifices of the district population during the 44-day Patriotic War, he noted that the deceitful enemy fired 16,277 shells, tanks, and Grad rockets, including 21 prohibited missiles, at 40 settlements including Tartar city. As a result, 16 civilians were martyred and 63 were injured: “During the Patriotic War, 46 military personnel from the district were martyred, 57 were injured and lost their health. There are 1,554 veterans of the Patriotic War in our district.” Müstəqim Məmmədov highlighted the significance of the conference dedicated to the “Year of Constitution and Sovereignty,” mentioning the collaboration between the Tartar District Executive Authority and Baku State University—the country’s and region’s leading higher education institution, alma mater of National Leader Heydar Aliyev. He also recalled the series of events organized in April 2023 on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev in cooperation with the University.

Next, the dean of BDU’s Faculty of Information and Document Management, Alemder Jabbarli, the head of the Department of Editorial and Publishing Work, Knyaz Aslan, the department lecturer Rasim Süleymanov, the chairman of the YAP Tartar District Organization Eldar Əsədov, and the editor of the “Yeni Tartar” newspaper Svetlana Bağırova delivered presentations aligned with the conference topic.

At the event, the book “Heydar Aliyev – 100: Bibliographic Information Book,” published by the decision of BDU Academic Council, was presented as a gift to the Tartar District Executive Authority.
