Research by Azerbaijani scientists on nanoparticles presented at an international conference in Pakistan
19-09-2025

From 18–20 August 2025, the 1st International Conference on Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (ICNN-1) was held at the International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences of the University of Karachi, Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

At the conference, a joint research study titled “Study of the Effect of Metal Nanoparticles on the Reproductive Processes of Fish” was presented by Chingiz Mammadov, Associate Professor of the Department of Zoology and Physiology at the Faculty of Biology, Baku State University (BSU), in collaboration with researchers from the Institute of Biotechnology of ANAS (Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences). The presentation was recognized with a certificate.

The research is being carried out within the framework of the Azerbaijan Science Foundation’s “Main Grant Competition – 2024” (AEF-MGC-2024-2(50)), dedicated to the “Year of Solidarity for a Green World.”

The study investigates the effects of anthropogenic metal nanoparticles on the reproductive processes of fish, including egg productivity, ontogenesis, and transgenerational transmission characteristics. The research applies histological, biochemical, and biophysical methods to comprehensively assess the environmental and biological impacts of these nanoparticles.
