A scientific seminar titled “Evaluation of the Efficiency of State Investments Aimed at Entrepreneurship in Azerbaijan” was held at the Faculty of Geography of Baku State University (BSU).
Head of the Department of Azerbaijani Geography and Teaching Methodology, Associate Professor Saleh Naghiyev, emphasized the importance of state investments directed toward the development of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). He noted that recent economic reforms have significantly boosted entrepreneurship in Azerbaijan, improving living standards and contributing to overall economic growth. He also highlighted the need for further development of entrepreneurship to ensure the production of high-quality goods, the growth of competitive industries, and the expansion of employment opportunities.
The seminar continued with a presentation by lecturer Nurana Aliyeva from the Department of Economic and Social Geography. She provided detailed insights into the impact of state investments on entrepreneurship development. Within the framework of the research, quantitative methods such as regression and correlation analysis were applied to assess the positive influence of state investments on various business entities. The study also examined regional characteristics of SME development and analyzed internal and external factors affecting investment efficiency, as well as the role of the state’s investment-oriented policy in economic growth.
During the seminar, professors Maqsud Qocamanov, Chingiz Ismayilov, Aydin Ibrahimov, and Doctor of Geographical Sciences Shakar Mammadova highlighted the relevance of the topic and the innovative methodological approach, recommending the continuation of scientific research in this field.
