Sustainable Development Goals at Baku State University.

A scientific seminar was held at the Faculty of Ecology and Soil Science of Baku State University. During the event, Associate Professor Goshgar Mammadov of the Department of Soil Science and Real Estate Cadastre delivered a presentation entitled “The Role and Importance of Agrochemical Research in Food Safety.”

In his presentation, the speaker noted that food shortages remain a pressing global challenge and that ensuring food safety is an increasingly important issue in Azerbaijan as well. He explained that the main objective of his research was to examine the significance of agrochemical studies in maintaining food safety. The presentation provided a scientific overview of the role of agrochemistry within agricultural sciences and emphasized its growing importance in addressing food-related challenges.

The researcher also discussed the relationship between food security and food safety, highlighting their interconnected nature. He stressed the importance of incorporating agricultural sciences, particularly agrochemistry, into the education and training of specialists in food safety and food engineering.

Furthermore, the presentation drew attention to the wide range of agricultural products consumed directly by people, including tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, leafy vegetables, fruits, berries, and melons. These examples were used to demonstrate the close connection between food safety and agricultural disciplines such as agrochemistry.

The seminar concluded with a question-and-answer session, followed by an extensive exchange of scientific views among participants.
