A scientific seminar titled “Assessment of Hydrometeorological Parameters in the Recreational Zones of the Caspian Sea” was held at the Faculty of Geography of Baku State University (BSU).
Opening the seminar, the Chair of the Faculty Scientific Seminar, Head of the Department of Azerbaijan Geography and Geography Teaching Methodology, Associate Professor Saleh Nagiyev, emphasized that the scientific evaluation of the recreational potential of the Caspian Sea under modern conditions, as well as the study of the impact of hydrometeorological factors on the recreational environment, is of great importance for the sustainable development and efficient use of coastal areas. He also noted that Aytan Guliyeva, PhD in Geography and lecturer at the Department of Hydrometeorology, is a specialist in the field of hydrometeorology and conducts research on the impact of hydrometeorological processes on natural-recreational systems.
In her presentation, Aytan Guliyeva first provided detailed information on the natural-geographical characteristics of the recreational zones of the Caspian Sea, the main hydrometeorological indicators observed in these areas, and their seasonal variability. The study analyzed air temperature, wind regime, humidity, precipitation, wave height, and other hydrometeorological parameters, assessing their impact on recreational activities. She extensively examined the role of hydrometeorological factors in shaping recreational conditions in the coastal zones of the Caspian Sea, identifying risk factors and favorable periods through scientific-statistical approaches.
During the seminar, Professors Aydin Ibrahimov and Magsad Gocamanov, as well as Associate Professors Irada Aliyeva, Alakbar Hasanaliyev, and others, participated in an active discussion. They highlighted the relevance of the research topic and described the methodological approach as innovative, recommending the continuation of scientific studies in this field.
