A scientific seminar titled “Scientometric Analysis of the Document Flow on Children’s Journalism in Azerbaijan” was held at the Faculty of Information and Document Management of Baku State University (BSU), organized by the Student Scientific Society.
At the seminar, doctoral student Lamiya Aliyeva delivered a presentation analyzing the formation and development history of children’s journalism in Azerbaijan. It was noted that this field has undergone a consistent development process since the late 19th and early 20th centuries, during which the activities of enlightened intellectuals and prominent writers played a significant role.
The research traced the document flow on children’s journalism in chronological order and emphasized the importance of bibliographic resources in systematizing and disseminating the field. It was highlighted that children’s journalism is one of the key directions shaping the content of children’s media. Articles, essays, sketches, reports, news items, and portrait pieces published in children’s magazines and newspapers contribute to children’s social, moral, and aesthetic development and play an important role in fostering national and universal values.
The speaker also analyzed bibliographic resources on children’s journalism prepared by the Firidun bey Kocharli Republican Children’s Library, noting their importance in monitoring the development of the field, preserving its rich heritage, and transferring it to future generations.
The seminar continued with discussions on the topic.
