Second Eurasian Forum on artificial intelligence and data science held in Baku

The Second Eurasian Forum on Artificial Intelligence and Data Science has commenced at the Baku Congress Center. The event is jointly organized by Baku State University, Codelandia, and Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, bringing together scientists, experts, and innovators from various countries to discuss the latest achievements in artificial intelligence and data science.

The three-day forum serves as an important platform for exchanging ideas and experiences on AI theory, the development of new methodologies, and the application of data science in fields such as medicine, cybersecurity, sports, and agriculture.

The event was opened by BDU Rector Elchin Babayev, who emphasized the forum’s significance in strengthening international scientific cooperation. He noted that the continuous attention and support of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, toward information technologies and digital development play a crucial role in advancing this field.

The Rector also announced the establishment of the Department of Artificial Intelligence Ethics at BDU. This new structural unit will promote ethical principles, transparency, and social responsibility in AI research.

Other speakers at the opening ceremony included Chairman of the Board of the Innovation and Digital Development Agency Farid Osmanov, Executive Director of the Center for Analysis and Coordination of the Fourth Industrial Revolution Fariz Jafarov, Vice President for Regional and Industrial Development at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev Dan Blumberg, and Head of Codelandia Gunel Jannatova, who highlighted the importance of the forum.

The scientific program of the forum features presentations by renowned scholars from around the world. Topics include the development of global AI and data markets, ethical and practical challenges in applying artificial intelligence in healthcare, and the role of higher education in an era where information has become a strategic resource.

Within the framework of the forum, participants will engage in panel discussions, presentations, and interactive exchanges, generating new ideas on the prospects for the development of artificial intelligence and data science in the region.
