As part of a series of events dedicated to 27 March – Science Day in the Republic of Azerbaijan, a seminar entitled “Scientific Paradigms in Information Management” was held at the Faculty of Information and Document Management of Baku State University (BSU), organized by the Student Scientific Society.
The seminar featured a presentation by Associate Professor Elchin Ahmadov, Head of the Department of Library Science at BSU. In his presentation, he discussed the scientific foundations of information management as an emerging field shaped by contemporary challenges. The significance of information management in ensuring the proper identification of research objectives and the effective use of information resources was highlighted, and major paradigms in the field were analyzed.
He emphasized that developing researchers’ skills in working with information resources, as well as ensuring academic integrity in the processes of information retrieval, processing, and dissemination, are among the key requirements of information management.
At the end of the seminar, participants’ questions were answered, and it was noted that such events play an important role in fostering students’ interest in scientific research.
