16-12-2025

A seminar titled “Start Your Career in IT” was held at Baku State University (BSU) within the framework of the international intensive digital skills education program “IT SkillSprint,” co-organized by the BSU Student Scientific Society and the Innovation and Digital Development Agency.

The seminar provided detailed information on the goals, content, and participation opportunities of the “IT SkillSprint” program. Director of the Center for Organization of Scientific Activity and Innovations at BSU, Farid Nagiyev, emphasized the importance of the program in developing young people’s digital skills and training professionals who meet the demands of the modern labor market.

Leyla Zeynalova, a representative of the Innovation and Digital Development Agency, noted that the program aims to strengthen students’ knowledge and practical skills in modern technologies. It was highlighted that the program covers areas such as DevOps and Cloud Computing, data and artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and web development.

Participants were informed that the training will be organized in a hybrid format and will include intensive bootcamp sessions with the participation of international mentors, work on real projects, hackathons, and career fairs. It was noted that students who successfully complete the program will be awarded international certificates.

The seminar also outlined the participation requirements. Students from all majors who are in the second semester of their third year of study and have a university entrance score of 400 or above are eligible to apply. The selection process will consist of testing and interview stages. The six-month program is scheduled to run from February to July 2026, and the credits earned during this period will be recognized by universities. It was also noted that the pilot phase of the program is being implemented only in selected universities.

As part of the event’s interactive segment, a quiz was organized via the “Kahoot” platform, and prizes were awarded to the top three participants based on the results. The seminar concluded with a Q&A session and additional explanations regarding the program.

It should be noted that the “IT SkillSprint” program is regarded as an important initiative aimed at implementing global IT education standards in Azerbaijani universities and preparing young people for the digital labor market. Registration for the program has already begun.
