A meeting dedicated to the science and higher education components of the draft “Socio-Economic Development Strategy of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2027–2030” was held at Baku State University.
The event was attended by Head of the Humanitarian Policy, Diaspora, Multiculturalism and Religious Affairs Department of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Farah Aliyeva, Minister of Science and Education Emin Amrullayev, Chairperson of the Board of the State Examination Center State Examination Center Maleyka Abbaszade, deputy ministers of science and education, heads of relevant structural units of the ministry, and rectors of higher education institutions.
During the meeting, a presentation titled “Strengthening the Science and Higher Education Ecosystem” was delivered. The presentation provided information on the results achieved in science and higher education during 2022–2025 and outlined key areas of activity planned through 2030.
The discussions highlighted priorities such as increasing the coverage and accessibility of higher education, modernizing content and quality indicators, strengthening international competitiveness and mobility, developing science and higher education within the framework of public-private partnerships, enhancing scientific potential, and ensuring financial sustainability.
In addition, proposals were put forward to align the strategic development plans of higher education institutions with the country’s socio-economic goals, expand universities’ international cooperation opportunities, and stimulate results-oriented scientific research.
Participants exchanged views on defining priorities for the upcoming period, forming a modern higher education ecosystem that meets contemporary requirements, and further strengthening the role of science in the development of society.
