On 12 March 2026, second-year students of the Library and Information Activities programme at the Faculty of Information and Records Management of Baku State University (BSU) participated in a practical class at the library of ADA University. The session was conducted within the framework of the Electronic Catalogue course under the supervision of Associate Professor Rashad Gardashov from the Department of Library and Information Resource Management.
The visit began with an introductory presentation by the library’s director, Elchin Mammadov, PhD in Technical Sciences, who provided detailed information about the institution’s activities, operational principles, document management processes, and library collections. He also discussed the development of electronic services, the establishment of digital library resources, and the digitization of publications, noting that the library has achieved significant progress in these areas and continues to enhance its services.
As part of the practical training, students toured various departments of the ADA University Library. Library staff demonstrated key library operations and information management processes, allowing students to observe professional practices firsthand and participate directly in selected stages of the workflow.
The practical class provided valuable experience in contemporary library management, digital information services, and electronic cataloguing systems, helping students strengthen their professional knowledge and practical skills.
