The 2nd Eurasian Forum on Artificial Intelligence and Data Science has commenced today at the Baku Congress Center. Organized jointly by Baku State University (BSU), Codelandia LLC, and Ben-Gurion University of the Negev (Israel), the forum brings together researchers, specialists, and innovators from around the world, providing a platform to discuss the latest achievements in AI and data science.
The three-day forum serves as a major venue for exchanging ideas and experiences on AI theory, the development of new methods, and applications of data science in medicine, cybersecurity, sports, agriculture, and other fields.
The opening session was led by BSU Rector Elchin Babayev, who highlighted the forum’s importance in strengthening international scientific collaboration. He also emphasized the role of President Ilham Aliyev’s sustained attention to information technology and digital development in advancing these fields.
Rector Babayev announced the establishment of a new Department of AI Ethics at BSU, which will promote ethical principles, transparency, and social responsibility in AI research.
Other notable speakers at the opening included Farid Osmanov, Chairman of the Innovation and Digital Development Agency, Fariz Jafarov, Executive Director of the 4th Industrial Revolution Analysis and Coordination Center (4SIM), Dan Blumberg, Vice President for Regional and Industry Development at Ben-Gurion University, and Gunel Jannatova, CEO of Codelandia, who all underscored the forum’s significance.
The forum’s scientific program features presentations from renowned global scholars covering topics such as global AI and data markets, ethical and practical challenges of AI in healthcare, and the role of higher education in the modern information-driven world.
Participants will also engage in panel discussions, presentations, and interactive exchanges, generating new ideas for the development of AI and data science in the region.
