Baku State University (BSU) hosted an event titled “The Path to Victory” organized by the Faculty of Physics on the occasion of the 5th anniversary of the great Victory achieved in the Patriotic War.
The event began with the performance of the National Anthem, followed by a moment of silence to honor National Leader Heydar Aliyev and the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of Azerbaijan.
Professor Bakhtiyar Pashayev, Dean of the Faculty of Physics, delivered a presentation on “The Path to Victory”, highlighting the crucial role of the multifaceted activities implemented by National Leader Heydar Aliyev and President Ilham Aliyev in achieving the historic Victory. He spoke about the historical, moral, political, and economic significance of the Victory and commemorated the heroism of the faculty’s alumni—National Heroes Rovshan Huseynov and Vahid Guliyev in the First Karabakh War, as well as martyrs Shahriyar Habibi and Fikrat Zeynalov in the Patriotic War.
A video dedicated to Victory Day, prepared by volunteers of the Faculty of Physics, was then presented.
Professor Adila Abbasova of the Department of Semiconductor Physics, a member of the YAP Veterans Council and a State Advisor of the 2nd degree, along with Maarif Jafarov, Head of the Department of Chemical Physics of Nanomaterials and a native of Lachin, delivered speeches on the importance of the historic Victory.
Latif Aliyev, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Optics and Molecular Physics, presented a special visual demonstration dedicated to the Victory. He noted that the sound spectrum of President Ilham Aliyev’s phrase “Karabakh is Azerbaijan!” had been processed and crafted into a carpet titled “Sound Signature.”
In the artistic segment of the event, first-year student Aysun Huseynova presented her essay dedicated to the Victory, while students Fatima Jafarova and Sevgi Shirinova recited poems on the theme of the Motherland. The event concluded with faculty member Sona Gulakhmadova’s performance of the song “Long Live, Azerbaijan.”
