A training session titled “Start Your Career!” was conducted at Baku State University (BSU) as part of the “Adaptation Program,” organized by the BSU Career and Alumni Center and delivered by Sura Azizli, Senior Specialist of the Career Planning Department of the State Employment Agency.
During the event, theoretical and practical aspects of career development were presented. The trainer offered detailed insights into identifying individual potential, exploring opportunities in the labor market, preparing a goal-oriented action plan, and regularly evaluating its implementation.
The training highlighted the differences between the labor markets of the 20th and 21st centuries, noting that in today’s market, the question “What can I do?” has become more relevant than “Who will I be?”
Participants were provided with extensive information about competencies that are in high demand in the labor market, including analytical thinking, communication, teamwork, programming, project management, adaptability, and emotional intelligence. The importance of beginning career preparation from the first year of study was emphasized.
The session also covered vacancy and occupation research, tracking internship programs, analyzing labor market trends, engaging in volunteer activities, developing foreign language and digital skills, as well as the significant role of mentorship.
