A training session on “Psychological Assistance in Extreme Conditions” was organized by the Psychological Support Sector at Baku State University (BSU).
During the training, participants were provided with detailed information about the Psychological First Aid (PFA) model developed by Johns Hopkins University and its key stages for emergency situations. Discussions focused on stress, coping mechanisms, self-care practices, and the application of these approaches in everyday life.
It was emphasized that psychological first aid can be delivered not only by psychologists and medical professionals but also by representatives of other professions when appropriately trained. This approach plays an important role in enhancing community resilience during emergencies.
As part of the practical sessions, participants engaged in discussions and situational exercises on therapeutic communication, active listening skills, empathetic approaches, and creating a sense of safety.
