As part of the “Year of Solidarity for the Green World,” Baku State University (BSU) organized a large-scale tree-planting initiative at its Guba Training and Recreation Center. The event brought together university management, faculty, and students, highlighting the institution’s commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainable development.
During the campaign, approximately 100 trees were planted across the Center’s grounds. The initiative is part of BSU’s broader efforts to support measures addressing climate change, promote biodiversity, and restore ecological balance in local ecosystems. By engaging students directly in environmental activities, the university also aims to foster environmental awareness, strengthen education on sustainability, and encourage a culture of responsible land and resource management.
Speaking about the campaign, representatives from BSU emphasized that such initiatives are crucial not only for improving the local environment but also for cultivating a sense of responsibility among future leaders. “Our goal is to combine practical action with educational impact,” they noted. “Through activities like tree planting, we aim to instill sustainable practices and environmental consciousness among our students and the wider community.”
BSU continues to prioritize conservation and the sustainable use of natural resources, integrating these efforts into its educational programs, community engagement, and institutional policies. The university remains committed to supporting initiatives that protect forests, preserve biodiversity, and contribute to a greener, healthier planet for future generations.
