A new edition of the “Waste-for-Gifts” festival was held at Baku State University (BSU) with the support of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, “Araz” supermarket chain, “Azərsun Holding,” “Təkan” and “EcoHub” public unions, and “Yağmur-2” LLC. The event aimed to raise public awareness about proper waste management, sorting, and recycling, as well as to encourage active youth participation in environmental initiatives.
The festival attracted strong interest from students, young people, and the wider community. Participants handed over 3,410 liters of plastic waste, 685 liters of glass waste and 1,481 used batteries receiving various gifts in return. The program also included interactive educational activities to promote environmental awareness.
This initiative serves as a clear example of contributing to environmental culture, increasing civic responsibility, and promoting proper waste management practices.
