16-03-2026

A simulation conference titled “Rebuilding Cities” based on the World Urban Forum (WUF) model was held at Baku State University (BSU) within the framework of “Urban Planning and Architecture Week,” organized at the initiative of the BSU Volunteers organization.

Project Management and Partnerships Manager Madina Khalilova provided an overview of the week and highlighted the role of the simulation in promoting action toward the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, particularly focusing on key Sustainable Development Goals. She emphasized that such initiatives enhance students’ awareness of global challenges while encouraging active discussions on innovation, sustainable urban environments, and international cooperation.

During the simulation, participants represented different cities of Azerbaijan and engaged in discussions on reconstruction and redevelopment processes, sustainable urban development, modern infrastructure solutions, and urban planning. The sessions addressed the social, economic, and environmental dimensions of rebuilding cities.

Participants presented their ideas and proposals, which were later summarized and discussed collectively in the final session.

At the conclusion of the conference, participants were awarded certificates and letters of appreciation.
