AYNA holds info session at BSU on “Micromobility from campus to city”
16-04-2026

An information session on the topic “Micromobility from campus to city” was held at Baku State University (BSU), organized by the Azerbaijan Land Transport Agency (AYNA) within the framework of the “year of urban planning and architecture.”

Head of the Humanitarian Affairs and Youth Policy Department at BSU, Ramin Samadov, spoke about the importance of awareness-raising initiatives in this field and highlighted the university’s social projects implemented within the framework of the thematic year.

Ruhlan Abulfazade, a representative of AYNA’s communication department, provided students with information on the development of micromobility infrastructure. It was noted that the implementation of micromobility aims to increase mobility, reduce traffic congestion in city centers, and improve environmental conditions. As in many cities worldwide, efforts are being made in Baku to reduce traffic density and ensure the safety of cyclists, users of electric micro-vehicles, and other road participants. Currently, the total length of micromobility lanes in Baku is 60.5 kilometers, with plans to expand the network to 100 kilometers. As part of these efforts, 872 parking points for scooters and 623 for bicycles have been established. Considering the growing public interest in micromobility, further expansion of the infrastructure is planned to support environmental protection, reduce congestion, promote physical activity, and encourage a healthy lifestyle.

Nijat Kazimov, a representative of AYNA’s micromobility department, spoke about the agency’s projects, emphasizing that the main goal is to develop a culture of micromobility among students, strengthen safe mobility habits, and encourage discussions on existing infrastructure.

Fatima Goychali, head of the innovations and marketing department at “Apar” company, noted that the company, which provides rental services for conventional and electric bicycles, implements various social initiatives to promote micromobility.

During the session, students exchanged views on the improvement of micromobility in Baku and had their questions answered.

Following the event, scooter and bicycle training sessions were organized by the “Apar” company.
