Sustainable Development Goals at Baku State University.

First-year master's students of the Department of Molecular Biology and Biotechnologies at the Faculty of Biology participated in a scientific-practical training program organized at the Modern Breeding and Molecular Biology Laboratory of the Agrarian Research Institute under the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The training was conducted under the supervision of Associate Professor Roza Mammadova.

Held in a modern laboratory environment, the training focused on the practical application of DNA isolation from plant leaf tissues and the use of molecular markers. The participants not only observed the procedures but also actively carried out all stages of DNA isolation, including sample preparation, cell lysis, centrifugation, and purification of genetic material. The interactive format allowed each participant to independently perform the laboratory procedures.

The training was delivered by Halima Mammadova, Head of the Laboratory at the Agrarian Research Institute, and Elchin Hajiyev, Head of the Immunogenetics Department at the Institute of Genetic Resources. The researchers provided detailed information on the methodological foundations of molecular genetic analyses, laboratory safety regulations, and the application of molecular marker systems in plant breeding and the assessment of genetic diversity.

The primary objective of the training was to strengthen the master's students’ theoretical knowledge in plant genomics and molecular genetics through practical experience, enhance their scientific research skills, and improve their competence in working with modern laboratory technologies.
