Baku State University (BSU) and the Beijing University of Chemical Technology (BUCT), located in the People's Republic of China, have signed an agreement to establish a dual degree bachelor's program in Chemistry. The agreement was signed by BSU Rector Elchin Babayev and BUCT President Tan Tianwei. The signing ceremony was also attended by Lu Mei, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to Azerbaijan.
The dual degree program represents an important outcome of ongoing efforts to enhance the quality of higher education, align academic programs with international standards, and strengthen the global competitiveness of universities in education and research. Under the agreement, the two institutions will jointly implement an undergraduate Chemistry program based on international academic standards. Students enrolled in the program will have the opportunity to earn diplomas from both universities.
This collaboration is expected to contribute to the training of highly qualified specialists equipped to meet the demands of the modern labor market and to further strengthen academic and scientific cooperation between Azerbaijan and China.
