A “WUF13 youth simulation” event dedicated to the 13th session of the United Nations World Urban Forum (WUF13) and the “year of urban planning and architecture” was held at Baku State University (BSU). The event was jointly organized by the Student Youth Organization (SYO) and the Student Scientific Society (SSS) of the Faculty of Chemistry.
The main objective of the event was to demonstrate young people’s approaches to addressing urban planning and environmental challenges.
Students representing various countries, including Azerbaijan, the United States, Türkiye, Denmark, France, Norway, Italy, Germany, China, Portugal, the United Kingdom, Brazil, the United Arab Emirates, Japan, the Netherlands, India, Canada, Switzerland, and Indonesia, participated in the simulation. Each participant analyzed the environmental issues of the country they represented and presented urban planning models and projects aimed at addressing these challenges.
During the simulation, participants engaged in extensive discussions on global environmental and urban development issues. Various approaches were proposed on topics such as sustainable urban development, conservation of natural resources, the use of clean energy, and the development of environmentally sustainable urban infrastructure.
