An educational event entitled “Chemistry in the Food Industry” was organized at the Faculty of Chemistry of Baku State University (BSU) on the initiative of the BSU Volunteers organization.
The main purpose of the event was to provide students with comprehensive information about the role of chemistry in the food industry, its areas of application, and recent developments in the field.
During the opening session, Deputy Dean for Social Affairs and Student Relations, Taleh Gahramanov, delivered a presentation on the topic. He discussed chemical processes used in food production, the application of food additives, and the importance of their proper use. He also encouraged students to further develop their knowledge and expertise in this area.
Speakers highlighted the significance of chemistry in the food industry and emphasized its crucial role in protecting human health and supporting everyday life. It was noted that issues such as maintaining food quality, ensuring food safety, and extending product shelf life are closely linked to advances in chemical science.
Laman Lazimzade, Deputy Chairperson of the BSU Volunteers organization, also addressed the participants and explained the objectives behind organizing the event. She emphasized that such initiatives help students expand their theoretical knowledge while providing guidance for their future professional careers.
The event continued with an interactive session in which students were invited to answer questions, share their opinions, and participate in discussions related to the topic. The participants actively contributed their knowledge and perspectives, making the event both engaging and informative.
At the conclusion of the program, participants expressed strong interest in the subject and emphasized the importance of organizing similar educational events more frequently. They thanked the organizers for providing a valuable learning opportunity and described the event as both informative and motivating.
