A scientific seminar entitled “Comparative Analysis of the Variability of the AFRI-1600 Index in the Hakari River Basin According to Identified Gradations” was held at the Faculty of Ecology and Soil Science of Baku State University as part of events dedicated to Science Day in Azerbaijan, observed on 27 March.
The seminar was delivered by Gunel Heydarzade, a former doctoral student of the Department of Geographical Ecology. In her presentation, she provided detailed information on the comparative analysis of aerosol particle distribution along the Hakari River basin based on index coefficients related to territory, geographical relief, and forest landscapes.
Using cartographic materials, the speaker analyzed the distribution of forest cover across the river basin and different geographical zones. She also presented research findings on the relationship between the geographical spatial characteristics of the area and the index-based distribution of forest cover.
The seminar continued with discussions, during which participants’ questions were answered.
