Sustainable Development Goals at Baku State University.

A scientific seminar dedicated to Science Day, titled “Artificial Intelligence as a Decision-Making Tool in Life Sciences: Early Detection and the Development of Hybrid Model Mechanisms,” was organized for academic staff, young researchers, and students at the Faculty of Biology of Baku State University (BSU).

The keynote speaker was Kaushik Das, Project Manager at the Assam Institute of Advanced Healthcare Innovation in Assam, India.

The seminar explored various applications of artificial intelligence in biomedicine and life sciences, with particular focus on data-driven decision-making, clinical decision support systems, and methodological approaches to medical imaging analysis.

A central theme of the presentation was the development of hybrid modeling mechanisms for early diagnosis through the integration of statistical and machine-learning algorithms with physiological and mechanistic models. In this context, research and development activities related to low-field magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) technologies were discussed, including signal processing, image reconstruction, and model generalization capabilities. Kaushik Das also highlighted the use of artificial intelligence in modeling biological processes and advancing scientific research.

The event continued in an interactive discussion format moderated by Nigar Huseynova, a lecturer at the Faculty of Biology. Participants had the opportunity to ask questions, exchange ideas, and discuss prospects for joint research projects and future scientific publications.
